Honduras: Obama sides with Castro & Chavez

World leaders from Barack Obama to Hugo Chavez demanded the return of the leftest Honduras president ousted in a military coup.

The so-called “military coup” in Honduras was a successful effort by Honduran patriots to preserve their constitutional system of government from an international alliance of communists and socialists backed by Iran. Not surprisingly, President Obama has come down on the anti-American side.

CEI finds global warming study censored by Obama's EPA

Obama, the African Colonial

This is a must read piece by L.E. Ikenga, a West African-American woman from Nigeria who calls Obama an 'African Colonial'. She nails Obama's mindset. Click link to read whole article. Here are a few excerpts:

Had Americans been able to stop obsessing over the color of Barack Obama's skin and instead paid more attention to his cultural identity, maybe he would not be in the White House today. The key to understanding him lies with his identification with his father, and his adoption of a cultural and political mindset rooted in postcolonial Africa.

The African colonial (AC) is a person who by means of their birth or lineage has a direct connection with Africa. However, unlike Africans like me, their worldviews have been largely shaped not by the indigenous beliefs of a specific African tribe but by the ideals of the European imperialism that overwhelmed and dominated Africa during the colonial period. AC's have no real regard for their specific African traditions or histories. AC's use aspects of their African culture as one would use pieces of costume jewelry: things of little or no value that can be thoughtlessly discarded when they become a negative distraction, or used on a whim to decorate oneself in order to seem exotic. (Hint: Obama's Muslim heritage).

I call such frustrated and angry modern Africans who embrace various foreign "isms", instead of looking homeward for repair of societies that are broken, African Colonials. They are Africans who serve foreign ideas.

The African colonial who is given too much political power can only become one thing: a despot.

Obama

Falcon:

Americans elected one of the greatest Flim-Flam Men of all time to the presidency and when you combine that with a congress infested with nothing more than spineless self serving people you have the recipe for the destruction of the American way of life.

The EPA suppresses the true facts about “Global Warming” because their just as spineless as the congress and for fear of losing their cushy overpaid jobs they lie about this weather warming myth.

A man that knows no science or anything about weather was elevated to be the spokesman by the weather loons and was even given a Nobel when in fact he’s about as smart as a door knob, although when it comes to ripping off the people Al Gore is a genius. He stands to make millions off the global warming lies and so do GE and other American socialist led companies.

The American people better wake up and put an end to this craziness perpetrated by Obama and his den of tax evaders and czars. We have all the self-sustaining natural resources we need but the president and his henchmen are forbidding its use and suppressing this information from the American people.

What fools the American people have become by electing this “craziness” to our highest office.

Government Healthcare Disaster

"I doubt whether there are many Americans who think Congress has either the right or competency to choose where they live, what clothes they wear or what cars they drive. Yet many Americans stand ready to allow Congress to decide what doctors they go to and what treatments they receive. We forget that once we have government-sponsored health care, it can be used to justify almost any restraint on liberty."
--economist Walter E. Williams

"The president claims that we must pass a government-run health insurance program -- possibly the most wide-ranging and intricate government undertaking in decades -- yesterday or a 'ticking time bomb' will explode. If all this terrifying talk sounds familiar, it might be because the president applies the same fear-infused vocabulary to nearly all his hard-to-defend policy positions. You'll remember the stimulus plan had to be passed without a second's delay or we would see 8.7 percent unemployment. We're almost at 10."

Government Spending vs. GDP

“What’s undeniable is that the federal government has burrowed its way deep into the quotidian workings of American capitalism. Since the onset of the financial crisis nine months ago, the government has become the nation’s biggest mortgage lender, guaranteed nearly $3 trillion in money-market mutual-fund assets, commandeered and restructured two car companies, taken equity stakes in nearly 600 banks, lent more than $300 billion to blue-chip companies, supported the life-insurance industry and become a credit source for buyers of cars, tractors and even weapons for hunting.” And check out this graphic.

Views of Liberals

Falcon,

TC did a good job of outlining the differences between liberals & conservatives. I do think he shortchanged most liberals and I hope to build on liberals’ thoughts:

1. George Tiller, Bill Ayers & Michael Moore are heroes
2. Tax cuts, not spending cause deficits
3. Raising taxes on the rich will stimulate the economy
4. The price of gasoline is still being controlled by Bush & Chaney
5. GW Bush caused our current economic recession by cutting taxes on the wealthiest 2% and creating huge deficits. Raising taxes and creating even larger spending deficits can correct it.
6. Government regulation & control will make healthcare affordable and plentiful
7. School choice should be available for rich democrats only
8. Preschool should be free and mandatory
9. The right to a secret ballot should be taken away from workers.
10. A 25% military cut in military spending is a good thing.
11. Democrats were against going to war in Iraq.
12. Democrats knew there were no WMD¹s all along
13. The government should seize control of talk radio
14. Foreign terrorists captured on foreign soil are entitled to American civil trials and ALCU lawyers
15. The three terrorists that were water-boarded 6-years ago did not provide useful information about potential attacks.
16. The information gathered from water-boarding three terrorists should remain classified. Water-boarding pictures should be released to the New York Times.
17. Windmills & ethanol will supply our energy needs.
18. Electric cars do not require energy
19. The coal industry should be bankrupted
20. Nuclear power is evil
21. Barack Obama was a well-qualified & vetted candidate
22. Fox news is a Republican network
23. Katy Coric, NBC, MSNBC labor leaders provide all the news we need to hear.
24. We need more gun laws. Gun legislation passed under Bill Clinton saved lives.
25. No one needs or deserves to own a handgun it only tempts law-abiding citizens.
26. Evil Republicans want to gamble our social security savings.
27. We¹re to stupid to invest even 4% of our own social security savings.
28. William ³cold cash² Jefferson was only doing a science experiment by hiding $100,000 in his freezer.
29. John Murtha was setup by the FBI
30. CEO and executive salaries should be capped.
31. Healthcare is a right.
32. Healthcare should be free
33. We should not drill for more oil. We should not build more refineries
34. Bill Clinton / Al Gore fought against NAFTA
35. Barack Obama is making our country safer.
36. More government regulation is needed.
37. Barack Obama is a moderate democrat.
38. The president answers the phone in the White House (even at 3 A.M.).
39. The government controls the economy.
40. The government should provide everyone jobs.
41. Election campaign should only be funded by Federal Campaign funds, unless of course you are Barack Obama.
42. Iraq was an illegal war.
43. Ted Kennedy should be excused for leaving the scene of an accident when Mary Jo Kopechne died because it was past his bedtime. Ted was the victim.
44. Only the GOP party is controlled by special interest groups.
45. Ted Kennedy didn't write the No Child Left Behind Act.
46. Nancy Polosi is a babe.

Stimulus Making Economy Worse

"The Obama administration was out in full force defending the stimulus this weekend. The mantra is that the economy is getting better but Americans need to be patient to see progress. The problem is that, so far, there hasn't been any economic progress. White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee promised on 'Fox News Sunday': 'It's going to take more than a few months to turn it around.' That contradicts White House economic adviser Lawrence H. Summers' promise in January that the economy would start improving 'within weeks' so long as the president's $787 billion stimulus was passed. The stimulus actually has dampened economic projections. In January, before the stimulus was passed, 53 business economists and forecasters surveyed by the Wall Street Journal expected gross domestic product (GDP) for the third quarter (July through September) to rise by 1.2 percent at an annual rate. Predictions became gloomier after the stimulus passed in [February]. In May, these experts forecast only a 0.6 growth rate for the third quarter. White House adviser David Axelrod told CBS' 'Face the Nation': 'The president was very clear when he enacted the stimulus ... unemployment was going to go up and go up for some time.' We only find administration officials back then warning about unemployment rates if the stimulus didn't pass. The stimulus did pass, and unemployment rose to 9.4 percent in May. ... Mr. Goolsbee said that 'Obama is cutting the deficit more than $2 trillion over the 10 years compared with what he was inheriting.' This claim conflicts with the Congressional Budget Office, which forecasts that the Obama administration will create a $9.3 trillion budget deficit over the next 10 years. The Obama administration is trying to rewrite history even as it is being made. The stimulus appears only to have delayed the recovery that economists were expecting before it was passed."

Danville Bank Softball Classic & More

The girls are back in town! The girls returned from their school trip to Florida at 3am Saturday morning and were playing softball by 11am. The Bears were hosting their annual Danville Bank Classic and despite not playing in more than a week they responded well.

In the Bears opening game 8th grader Regan Fraise got her first varsity start and responded with a 11 strikeout performance, allowing 1 run on 3 hits in picking up her first career win. The Bears scored 5 in the 5 to 1 win, on 9hits. Rebecca Nelson and Liberty Helt collected a pair of hits. Taylor Bowling, Alexa Hogberg,Lindsey Reed,Janelle Schneiderman and Brooke Byars also chipped in with hits. Helt and Reed had 2 RBI’s.

Senior Janelle Schneiderman gave up only one run on 4 hits, but it took 8th grader Lindsay Schaffer’s first career hit in the bottom of the seventh a two out single up the middle driving in Liberty Helt and Lindsey Reed with the tying and winning run in the 2 to 1 win over Mediapolis, setting up the championship game with Mt Pleasant. Taylor Bowling, Rebecca Nelson and Brittney Holezen also had hits in the game.

In the championship game we seemed poised to win jumping out to a 5 to 2 lead, but I think the Florida trip may have finally caught up to us as Mt Pleasant came back to tie the game and then push across the winning run in extra innings. Alexa Hogberg and Janelle Schneiderman had two hits, Liberty Helt was 3 for 4 with an RBI. Bowling,Nelson,Reed and Byars also had hits. Hogberg,Helt,Reed, and Byars had RBI’s.

Monday we traveled to always tough New London and played well, we just could not get our offensive going as senior Lindsey Reed managed to get our only hit in the 2 to 0 loss. Janelle Schneiderman pitched a great game allowing only 3hits in the tough luck loss.

All in all it is just good to finally be playing softball and I am looking forward to a great year.

Obama Report Card Time

Falcon,

I think I have had enough of the new president, not sure I can stomach three and a half more years of his and the first ladies arrogance.

I hear him tell the American citizens we must tighten our belts and restrain our spending, that’s fine I think all of us are ready willing and able at least those that are paying attention.

The problem I have with the presidents remarks are he turns around and flies his wife to New York City for dinner and theatre at a cost of $224,000.00, now I have been to Washington DC and I know for a fact there are lots of restaurants even some very nice ones. I have only driven through New York City so I’d probably have to check with Mike Sweet to see if the restaurants in DC compare to those in NYC.

He chastised the CEO’s of the auto companies about flying corporate jets to DC for there powwow, then the president sends Air Force One to NYC another time to get some photo shots flying by the Statue Of Liberty at the same time scaring the be Jesus out of all the people on the ground reminding them all of another day that was also filled with lots of photos and video footage thankfully the people on the ground were just overreacting, I mean all they had to do was look at the side of the plane and know it was Air Force One. I think it cost around $330,000.00 but who’s counting in the age of trillions.

This week the First Lady is hanging in Europe doing a little shopping. The verdict is still out on the cost of this little jaunt across the pond. I’m sure the press secretary will be able to spin it to a press that checked its journalistic integrity at the door on January twentieth and now just nods in unison whenever Mr. Gibbs says anything.

We also inherited a car company or two along the way, I don’t know about anyone else but I really didn’t want a car company, I was still waiting on the return on the railroad we took over back in 1972 at that time we were told that it would only take 3 years to turn it around and people would be clamoring for some ownership of Amtrak.

37 years and tens of billions of dollars later and still counting the railroad just can’t seem to get over that last hurdle of being profitable.

This gives me a lot of confidence that the president and his administration know exactly what there doing.

I almost forgot the seven hundred billion dollar stimulus package that also made us the proud owners of banks and insurance companies.

As I write this I can see the wisdom of the president’s moves here, we all own banks, car companies and insurance companies, looks like I’ll be driving around in a new ride with a federally backed loan and my insurance paid for.

By the time 2012 rolls around everything will be run by the government with zero unemployment because we’ll all be working for the government.

The only problem I think I will have with this is what Czar am I to answer too is it the Energy Czar, Urban Czar, InfoTech Czar, Faith Based Czar, Health Reform Czar, Tarp Czar, Stimulus Accountability Czar, Non Proliferation Czar, Terrorism Czar, Regulatory Czar, Drug Czar, Guantanamo Closure Czar, Auto Czar, Cyber Security Czar, Aids Czar, Green Jobs Czar, Weather Czar, Pay Czar, U.S. Border Czar, Iran Czar, Middle East Czar, Pakistan Czar or Afghanistan Czar. I don’t know about you but that sure seems like a lot of Czars along with the members of his cabinet. I can see now why we will run a $1.7 trillion deficit; it’s to pay all these payrolls for the new jobs created by this administration.

To those of you that voted for Mr. Obama I want to give you some words of advice, if you buy a new car and that car is in the shop 10 or 12 times the first five months the government allows you to have that car, two things I want you to understand. Number one that car was probably built by the Federal Government and number two that car is most likely a lemon.

I am asking you today to quit listening to the rhetoric and start looking at his actions, remember actions speak louder than words.

Do you really want the change this guy is peddling? And can we ever hope to return back to a country where the government knows its place and doesn’t infringe on our freedoms?

Big Government Spending Not Working

90-days ago the Federal Reserve launched a $1.2 trillion spending spree. It was designed to push down mortgage rates and revitalize the housing market.

But the big government spending program had the opposite effect. Mortgage rates and Treasury debt are skyrocketing higher as bond investors worry about a new round of inflation.

County E-911

Falcon,

After reading Sunday's Hawkeye stories about the County E911 expenses and management, I think Dan Cahill is doing a good job. It is his job to watch and question mismanagement and spending. It appears that the clique at the courthouse doesn't like anybody to question anything they do and they will treat them poorly. Elected officials, especially Jeff Heland, always campaigned on good and honest OPEN government. They like the articles and the press that agrees with them, but when there is something like this that is questioned, then they don't like how it is handled in the media. They don't want the public to know about some of this. The sheriff's comments were disappointing too. Maybe he should watch the taxpayers’ money a little better too. The Hawkeye is doing their job. Suggestion: If Strause needs to drive 300 miles in one day driving the county site seeing and looking at his signs, he should use a County car. The County and taxpayers own several cars that are sitting idle part of the day that could be used. He could plan the day that he needs it and the County could free up one. Not many businesses are paying 55 cents per mile. Sounds like some employees are using this system to supplement their income. Also, too many cars are allowed to be taken home on taxpayer expense. It's abused. We need more Dan Cahills.

The County just gave employees a pay raise, and now they don't have enough money to meet the payroll. So they borrow 1 million dollars and raise our property taxes. What business would do this? Would Jeff Heland operate his business this way? No way. But taxpayers can be expected to pay this. Isn't this how GM went bankrupt? Heland is in office for the wrong reasons and all we have to do watch what he does and it sure is not in the best interest of the taxpayers. They should have taken salary freezes in this poor economy, not raise taxes and get pay raises. Vote for the same people and this is what we get.

Lets Get Control of the Fed

Falcon,

I’m writing to ask all your readers to contact Congressman Loebsack’s office (202)-225-6576 and demand he co sponsor H.R. 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009. This bill currently has 186 co-sponsors.

I don’t know if all your readers are aware that the Federal Reserve is no more of a Federal Institution than Federal Express. It is a private corporation who since it’s inception in 1913 answers to no one, they cannot be audited and they cannot be controlled by our government or anyone else for that matter. Sounds like a pretty good racket to me.

The Fed tells the government that they can go ahead and print money because the fed has loaned it to them (basically they have created money out of thin air) then the federal government pays the Fed back plus interest. It cost about three cents to print a dollar bill or a hundred dollar bill. The fed has given nothing to the government except a promise to back that money and since they can’t be audited we don’t know if they have anything tangible to back up there promise. It’s time we start taking our country back and this is how we are going to do it one battle at a time, so again I ask you to please contact Loebsack

Thanks
Troy Chambers

SHOCK! Obama Admits Muslim Roots

File photo

ABC News' Jake Tapper and Sunlen Miller report: The other day we heard a comment from a White House aide that never would have been uttered during the primaries or general election campaign.

During a conference call in preparation for President Obama's trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said "the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to -- or before he's been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world -- you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father -- obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago."

In his April 6 address to the Turkish Parliament, President Obama referenced how many "Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them."

Trouble Figuring Out Financial Markets?

An Easily Understandable Explanation of Financial Markets

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit. She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar. To solve this problem, she comes up with new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later.

She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans).

Word gets around about Heidi's "drink now, pay later" marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in Detroit.

By providing her customers' freedom from immediate payment demands, Heidi gets no resistance when, at regular intervals, she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer, the most consumed beverages. Consequently, Heidi's gross sales volume increases massively.

A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Heidi's borrowing limit. He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral.

At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert traders transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS. These securities are then bundled and traded on international security markets. Naive investors don't really understand that the securities being sold to them as AAA secured bonds are really the debts of unemployed alcoholics.

Nevertheless, the bond prices continuously climb, and the securities soon become the hottest-selling items for some of the nation's leading brokerage houses.

One day, even though the bond prices are still climbing, a risk manager at the original local bank decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi's bar. He so informs Heidi.

Heidi then demands payment from her alcoholic patrons, but being unemployed alcoholics they cannot pay back their drinking debts. Since, Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations she is forced into bankruptcy. The bar closes and the eleven employees lose their jobs.

Overnight, DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS drop in price by 90%. The collapsed bond asset value destroys the banks liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community.

The suppliers of Heidi's bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms' pension funds in the various BOND securities. They find they are now faced with having to write off her bad debt and with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds. Her wine supplier also claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers.

Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multi-billion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from the Government. The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers.

Now, do you understand?

The billboard with Kelly’s picture is displayed at the intersection of old Highway 34 and 406 in West Burlington.

A Marine Corp website states, “In February 2003, Sgt Kelly deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a LAV [light armored vehicle] driver, and in August 2004, he deployed to Iraq again as a vehicle commander.”

“Sgt Kelly was awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat “V” for his heroic service while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2004 to March 2005. At the time, Sgt Kelly was a Cpl and an LAV commander with Company D, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division. While patrolling the Hit city bridge for suspected roadside bombs, Cpl Kelly’s platoon was ambushed by a numerically superior force from the opposite side of the Euphrates River. Unnerved by the enemy’s persistent fires and disregarding his own safety, Cpl Kelly maneuvered his vehicle to a firing position, identified several enemy targets and issued accurate fire commands to his gunner. When the platoon’s dismounted scouts were caught in an exposed position, he deliberately moved his vehicle in front of them, distracting the enemy’s attention and effectively enabling the scout squad to move to a covered position, while drawing much of the enemy’s fire. He also facilitated the platoon’s maneuver and the massing of its fire against the enemy, which broke the insurgents’ will to fight. Cpl Kelly’s initiative, perseverance and total dedication to duty reflected credit upon him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.”

Another New Tax

Falcon:

Our worthless governor signed a bill last week that allows cities to put up to a 5% tax on our utility bills under the guise of a franchise tax. Our thieving city will, with out a doubt use it to the fullest extent in order to line up next years wage increases and bonuses for city employees.

Burlington already puts a tax on utilities although the state doesn’t.

Obama Motors Makes Me Car Sick

"By the time you read this on Monday morning, General Motors will have declared bankruptcy. ... On April 28, 2000 a share of GM would have cost you $93.63. Last night you could have bought about 125 shares for that same money as GM was trading at 75 cents. ... Obama will own over 72.5 percent of whatever the 'new' GM looks like with a trust fund of the United Auto Workers owning the second biggest chunk at 17.5 percent. For those of you who, like me, are deficient when it comes to carrying-the-ones I did the arithmetic: The Obama Administration and the UAW will own 90 percent of General Motors. ... The government can't force us to buy GMs or Chryslers, but they can provide incentives for us to do it. The Congress can pass legislation giving an additional tax exemption or deduction for the purchase of any car made by a company which is more then 50 percent owned by the federal -- the American federal -- government. Conversely the Congress might pass a law putting an excise tax on the purchase of any vehicle not manufactured by a company which is more than 50 percent owned by the U.S. government. The scary part about how far across the collectivism causeway we have come in so short a period of time is this: A few months ago you would have snorted at the silliness of a suggestion like that. This morning you're saying, 'Oh, my, he's right. They might just do it.' The auto industry and health care are tied together. The thought of the government running them makes me car sick."

NASA: Sun Cycle 'lowest since 1928'

A solar flare observed back in Dec. 2006 by NOAA's GOES-13 satellite.

Frost Watch issued for New York.

An international panel of experts led by NOAA and sponsored by NASA has released a new prediction for the next solar cycle.

"If our prediction is correct, Solar Cycle 24 will have a peak sunspot number of 90, the lowest of any cycle since 1928 when Solar Cycle 16 peaked at 78," says panel chairman Doug Biesecker of the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.

PRAVDA: American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed

Who knows more about Marxism than the Russians?

"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people."

"First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish."

"The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe."

"These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?"
