Obama gets an 'F' for protecting America

There is no more solemn duty for an American commander-in-chief than the marshalling of “every element of our national power” – the phrase Obama himself used on Monday – to protect the people of the United States. In that key respect, Obama failed on Christmas Day, just as President George W. Bush failed on September 11th (though he succeeded in the seven years after that).

Here's 10-reasons why:

Not a peep from Obama

Falcon:

Not one peep out of Obama about the guy trying to blow up an American jetliner or any other peeps as he spends $4000 per day of our tax dollars vacationing over in Hawaii. Obama’s answer to terrorism is to talk them to death as they all laugh at him under their breath.

Also, this Obama has created such a large carbon foot print since being in office it will take the taxpayer’s years to pay it off under his cap and trade concerns to protect the environment. He’s one of the biggest contributors to global warming along with that bone head Gore spewing all his hot air into the atmosphere.

Currently we have a president and a staff that haven’t a clue of how to run the country let alone recharge the economy. Everything he’s done has given the American people no hope of ever recovering. His administration fudges all the figures and counts when it comes to unemployment. They’ve added many jobs for Iowans except those jobs are in districts that don’t even exist in Iowa. If he’s added jobs it’s in government and not the private sector which he seems hell bent to destroy.

Whatever happens in the future it will further destroy life as we’ve know it and put such a burden on our children and grandchildren disaster will eventually befall them all.

The way things are going it will take several future presidents to undo what Obama and crew will have destroyed; so let’s hope time flies and 2010 proves fruitful along with 2012 as we rid ourselves of this purge.

Economic Recovery? Don't bet on it

Mohamed El-Erian is chief executive of giant bond manager Pimco and manages over 1-trillion dollars in assests.

He says, "We're on a sugar high, it feels good for a while but is unsustainable."

He points out the recent burst of economic activity fed by government spending and near-zero interest rates, but says it will soon peter out.

He predicts:

_Stocks will drop 10 percent in the space of three or four weeks, bringing the Standard & Poor's 500 index below 1,000.

_The unemployment rate will be hovering above 8 percent a year from now.

_U.S. gross domestic product will grow at an average 2 percent or so for years to come - a third slower than normal.

Governor Culver

Falcon:

Mr. Culver is no different than the President when it comes to reeling in voters and in fact it’s the prime priority for both although Culver pushes the gay lifestyle much more than he tries to balance the budget. He feels pushing the gay agenda is his way of showing his compassion for the non-mainstream way of life.

Barry and his attorney general Holder are playing politics when it comes to the terrorists by holding court in the U.S. civilian system which is nothing more than a grand stand play to air out dirty laundry for the world to see how stupid the country really is under Barry and his oddball administration. The trials should be military and not civilian Mr. Obama.

Culver has done nothing right since being in office and has basically shown poor fiscal responsibility the same as President Barry Obama.

Does anyone ever wonder why Barry changed his name to Barack after all he is American, isn’t he?

Healthcare

Falcon:

Healthcare shows just how far this administration will go to buy votes which were proven by the shady deals to obtain the votes of Nebraska, Massachusetts, Louisiana and Vermont.

The administration paid off these four states with money stolen from the other 46 states. Also, where did the money to pay off Hillary’s campaign debts to the tune of $6 million come from?

This administration has stooped to new lows in order to ruin our country and drive us back into the Stone Age. Obama is bad for America and his election will be our outright disgrace in the eyes of the world. How can one person destroy our way of life after hundreds of years of freedom?

Grassley

Falcon:

Interesting reading:

Chuck Grassley, the longtime Republican senator from Iowa who warns his constituents of Obama’s “trend toward socialism,” has seen his family collect $1 million in federal handouts over an 11-year period, with Grassley’s son receiving $699,248 and the senator himself pocketing $238,974. Even Grassley’s grandson is learning to ride through life on training wheels, snagging $5,964 in 2005 and $2,363 in 2006. In the Grassley family they learn early how to enjoy other people’s money.

Sen. Grassley railed against government intervention in the health care market, telling The Washington Times, “Whenever the government does more ... that’s a movement toward socialism.” As the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, he ought to know, especially because the government has done more for him and his kin than for Americans struggling with high medical bills and mortgages. Even the free-market think tank the Heritage Foundation criticized Grassley on his deep connections to farming interests and his stubborn lack of transparency.
One can trust no one in Washington with special emphasis on senators and representatives both of which are the lowest form of life on earth.

Falcon,

Here’s an early 1900's postcard image of the original Burlington railroad depot that was destroyed years ago. Too bad, this one may have been worth saving. What a shame our city fathers are considering wasting millions on the ugly depot that replaced it.

The city should consider purchasing a bulldozer for the remodel instead.

Will Gov. Culver Attend in Drag?

Falcon,

The annual conference on gay and lesbian issues is set for Feb. 18 at Drake University.

Iowa Gov. Chet Culver has been invited to attend, but his staff is still booking his schedule for February, so Culver hasn’t RSVP’ed yet.

“However,” said Culver spokesman Troy Price, “either the Governor or Lt. Governor have appeared at this event every year since taking office, and we are going to make every effort to work this into the schedule.”

http://blogs.desmoinesregister.com/dmr/index.php/2009/12/22/registration-open-for-governor%E2%80%99s-conference-on-lgbt-youth/

It is nice to know Iowa's leaders have their priorities in order. Figuring out how cut a state budget nearly a billion bucks in the hole can wait.

After next November, will voters give former Governor Culver more time to attend to such pressing matters?

Lost on Mt. Hood

Falcon:

I often wonder who pays for all the searching that goes on when people do dumb and careless things such as going up on Mt. Hood in the winter time during the heavy snow season and getting lost.

What kind of people is it that hikes into North Korea or Iran as though they don’t have an ounce of common sense in their brains? What is it that makes them do such stupid stunts in the first place?

Why then should the American taxpayer be saddled with the cost of getting them back? If they don’t have the brains to refrain from risky behavior then they should be placed under house arrest until they learn what the hell “risk” means.

It’s hard to feel sorry for someone that makes foolish mistakes that an educated person would normally not do unless you happen to be a congressman or someone naturally dimwitted such as that.

People that take unnecessary risk should be on their own and not a burden to the taxpayer unless of course they pay the public back for their assistance.

I just don’t look at any of this as an accident but rather an unnecessary risk people take for no apparent reason other than being stupid.

Just where does an accident end and stupidity start?

Report: Iowa Tax Incentives don't work

Iowa Gov. Chet Culver's office reported Monday on the costs and benefits of tax credit programs provides no clear documentation of a return on investment for the state for most of Iowa's 32 active programs.

Among problems with tax incentives released Monday:

- For at least 18 incentives, the review detailed no clear proof of economic benefit to the state. These credits involved young farmers, biodiesel-blended fuel, retail dealers of E85 gas, research by Iowa companies and more.

The report said one of the biggest incentives - a training program for new jobs run by Iowa's community colleges - "is very popular with employers." This year, training for some 6,088 new jobs was planned at an estimated cost of $10,855 per job.

However, the report provided scant evidence that the $45 million program is an overall benefit to the state.

- Performance data for some programs have never even been gathered.

One program that tries to help Iowa's community colleges expand programs that train workers for needed jobs - the Accelerated Career Education Program - has been around since 2000. Yet the program still does not have a data system that allows program performance to be measured, the report said.

- State law makes public very little information about the beneficiaries of some credit programs.

One example: Iowa's Charitable Conservation Contribution Tax Credit took effect in 2008 to benefit individual and corporate taxpayers who donate property for conservation.

Yet the program has made public no information about individual recipients or aggregate donor information, the report said.

"It is not possible to quantify a return on investment at this time due to the tax credit's short history and the lack of information on land conveyances," the report said.

- Several tax credits are claimed to do good in Iowa communities, but the agencies cannot point to a direct benefit to the state's bottom line.

Credits created in 2003 that provide tax relief for those who make donations to community foundations leverage at least $5 of private sector donations for every $1 of credits awarded, the report said.

Several legislators said Monday that the report may be a death knell for Iowa's film incentives - at least as they currently exist.

Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis

The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

America waits with bated breath while Washington struggles to bring the U.S. economy back from the brink of disaster. But many of those same politicians caused the crisis, and if left to their own devices will do so again.

Despite the mass media news blackout, a series of books, talk radio and the blogosphere have managed to expose Barack Obama's connections to his radical mentors -- Weather Underground bombers William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis and others. David Horowitz and his Discover the Networks.org have also contributed a wealth of information and have noted Obama's radical connections since the beginning.

Yet, no one to my knowledge has yet connected all the dots between Barack Obama and the Radical Left. When seen together, the influences on Obama's life comprise a who's who of the radical leftist movement, and it becomes painfully apparent that not only is Obama a willing participant in that movement, he has spent most of his adult life deeply immersed in it.

But even this doesn't fully describe the extreme nature of this candidate. He can be tied directly to a malevolent overarching strategy that has motivated many, if not all, of the most destructive radical leftist organizations in the United States since the 1960s.

Medicare

Falcon:

Now our dimwits in Washington want to drive another nail into Medicare by allowing people as young as 55 to get on board.

People are far too young to call it quits at 55 and draw off funds from those that had to wait until 65. This will only further ruin the program. Also, if their not 65 or 66+ they should pay a penalty for going on Medicare early just like when you draw your social security early you pay a penalty each and every month you draw a check.

We Americans are fools to let people that create our laws get away with living under an entirely different set of laws decreed by them.

Our congress possesses some of the lowest forms of life living in these United States, yet they continue to make our laws when many of them should be in jail right now for past crimes of greed, adultery, misrepresentation and plain dishonesty.

Obama Strategy = Cloward & Piven Strategy

Cloward & Piven's Strategy is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands to bring about radical political change.

Using borrowed money for a band-aid bailout of the economy should seem backwards to most people. However, it likely is a planned strategy to promote radical change. Those naively believing that President Obama is simply rewarding his far-left base, and will then move to the political center, must wise up.

The assumption that Obama will need the nation to prosper in order to protect the 2010 mid-term election incorrectly assumes that he esteems free market capitalism. He does not. Rather than win through superior ideas and policies, the Democrat plan for success in the mid-term elections is to win by destroying political opposition.

The Cloward/Piven Strategy is named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Their goal is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change.

Copenhagen Climate Comedy

Imagine an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting where all the members showed up drunk and with extra cases of wine, beer, and booze to keep them happy. Now imagine that that same group of drunks was empowered to make trillions of dollars worth of economic decisions for everybody in the world. This absurd scenario swiftly summarizes the United Nations Climate Change Conference beginning today, and lasting through December 18, in Copenhagen.

Despite the fact that the entire conference is founded on the belief that human economic activity, especially flying and driving, is emitting levels of greenhouse gasses that will soon kill us all, plutocrats from around the world have marshaled over 1,200 limos and 140 private planes to travel to and around Copenhagen over the next two weeks. When they are not participating in the world’s oldest profession, conferees will be negotiating over a successor treaty to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol which obligated most developed nations to reduce their greenhouse emissions by 5 percent below 1990 baseline levels by 2012.

So how did those Kyoto emissions reduction pledges turnout? According to U.N. data, between 2000 and 2006, the 27 European signatories actually increased their emissions by 0.1%. Canada even saw a 21.3% emissions rise. Meanwhile, the U.S., who was not bound by the treaty since the U.S. Senate voted 95-0 not to subject our economy to costly regulations that China and India were specifically exempted from, actually reduced our emissions by 3% over the same time period.

One key reason Europe failed to meet their Kyoto obligations was the tremendous cost of reducing emissions, estimated at $67.75 billion to $170.84 billion through 2008. Because of the high costs of reducing emissions, Copenhagen is seen, especially by Europeans, as an opportunity to force the U.S. to join the other developed countries required to reduce emissions. The economic stakes are huge. Nick Main, global managing partner for climate change and sustainability at the consulting firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, tells the Los Angeles Times: “One of the reasons that this negotiation is difficult is it really does involve issues of competitive and comparative advantage between countries. This is really an economic debate of, ‘How do you pay the costs?’”

And the costs to our economy would be huge. A Heritage Foundation analysis of Waxman-Markey found that this energy tax would have serious implications throughout the economy. For a household of four, energy costs (electric, natural gas, gasoline expenses) would rise by $436 in 2012 and by $1,241 by 2035, averaging $829 over that period. Higher energy costs would increase the cost of many other products and services. Overall, Waxman-Markey would reduce gross domestic product by $393 billion annually and by a total of $9.4 trillion by 2035.

The Obama administration is sadly mistaken if it believes they can unilaterally submit the American people to such an economic disaster. Even Senators within the President’s own party have expressed grave concerns with the administration’s Copenhagen promises. Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) recently wrote the President: “Although details have not been made available, recent statements by Special Envoy on Climate Change Todd Stern indicate that negotiators may be intending to commit the United States to a nationwide emission reduction program. As you well know from your time in the Senate, only specific legislation agreed upon in the Congress, or a treaty ratified by the Senate, could actually create such a commitment on behalf of our country.”

With unemployment still in the double digits, now is not the time to subjecting the U.S. economy to costly new rules, especially rules that are not equally applied to developing countries like India and China.

County employee bonuses

Falcon,

Do you know if the Des Moines County employees are still receiving their year end bonuses? They call this longevity pay. With the economy the way it is and the budget problems the County had this year (large property tax increases) I would not think it would be necessary to hand out bonuses.

Not all, but most of the DMC employees could not go anywhere else and receive the pay, pension and health benefits that they currently receive. Why then, do we taxpayers have to give them bonuses to stay employed with DMC? They received pay raises this year and do not contribute to their monthly health insurance premiums. Some bonuses were $1200. in the past. Can we really afford this?

This is unfair to the taxpayers of DMC and especially those that are laid off and can't afford their property taxes as it is. Is this a valid point?

Climategate: Day 14 and Counting

For the fourteenth straight day, the three broadcast networks have failed to report on the great and growing ClimateGate scandal on their weekday morning or evening news programs. How to explain this?

Perhaps it is that ABC, NBC and CBS have not yet heard of the story, despite two weeks of non-stop reporting on and discussion of ClimateGate in a whole host of media outlets.

Global Warming

Falcon,

The Global Warming Experts continually refer to the .8 C increase in surface air temperatures dating back to the mystical, magical year of 1859. (2009 – 150 years = 1859)

In my kitchen today, I have an Indoor-Outdoor temperature recording devise that is amazingly accurate down to the tenth of a degree. I have no doubt that on the 2009 end of the 150 years of measurements spectrum, the scientific recordings are extremely accurate.

On the other end of the graph, however, I have my doubts. A look at the history of temperature measuring devices from the middle of the 19th century leave me with little confidence that the recordings are anywhere near today’s precision. Additionally, scientific data collection procedures seemed to be erratic at best.

The types of temperature recording devices used in 1859 around the Nation were varied in brand and reliability.

For example: from the

Catalog of Meteorological Instruments
in the
Museum of History and Technology

The oldest thermograph in the collection is a rather extraordinary instrument devised by G. W. Hough of the Dudley Observatory, Albany, New York, about 1860. Instead of using a bimetal, Hough used the difference in expansion of straight rods of iron and brass, and,
While it is extremely ingenious, it could not possibly have worked for long outdoors.

Collection of high and low temperatures by recorders around the country were also varied and subject to the whims and directives of those early meteorologists. When scrutinizing the practices of these mostly amateur scientists, very dissimilar and non-professional practices seem to be the order of the day.

For example: from the

The History of Weather Observing, in Lunenburg, Vermont, 1859-1892
Thermometer – Smithsonian, no other details are known

Failing to even note the type of instruments used seems a very unstable start to a scientific endeavor, which receives as much attention in the media as Global Warming.

And now, this from Fox News, “Scientists at the University of East Anglia have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based. The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.”

16,500 delegates, activists and reporters descend upon Copenhagen Monday for the United Nations Climate Change Conference. For 12 days the subject of Man-Made Global Warming well be treated as reality. Nonconforming opinions well not be allowed. We well be treated to several weeks of misinformation in the dominant liberal media. Get ready for it! Taxes on Carbon dioxide (a minor component of Earth's atmosphere (0.03 percent by volume) but one that is essential to terrestrial life) coming soon!

Obama Meeting

Falcon:

I see Obama had an employment meeting at the White House and those invited had nothing to do with hiring anyone.

He had college professors, union people and that about covers the extent of the meeting. Of course the meeting was apparently just for show or he would have invited someone that runs a business, the Chamber of Commerce and others that have something to do with hiring and firing or at least know something about running a business.

Now NASA is hiding climate data

The fight over global warming science is about to cross the Atlantic with a U.S. researcher poised to sue NASA, demanding release of the same kind of climate data that has landed a leading British center in hot water over charges it skewed its data.

NASA has refused for two years to provide information under the Freedom of Information Act that would show how the agency has shaped its climate data and would explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data going as far back as the 1930s.

Climategate: the final nail in the 'Global Warming' coffin

The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet.

Here are a few tasters.

Manipulation of evidence:

I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.

Private doubts about whether the world really is heating up:

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.

Suppression of evidence:

Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?

Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.

Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address.

We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.

Fantasies of violence against prominent Climate Sceptic scientists:

Next time I see Pat Michaels at a scientific meeting, I’ll be tempted to beat
the crap out of him. Very tempted.

Attempts to disguise the inconvenient truth of the Medieval Warm Period (MWP):

……Phil and I have recently submitted a paper using about a dozen NH records that fit this category, and many of which are available nearly 2K back–I think that trying to adopt a timeframe of 2K, rather than the usual 1K, addresses a good earlier point that Peck made w/ regard to the memo, that it would be nice to try to “contain” the putative “MWP”, even if we don’t yet have a hemispheric mean reconstruction available that far back….

And, perhaps most reprehensibly, a long series of communications discussing how best to squeeze dissenting scientists out of the peer review process. How, in other words, to create a scientific climate in which anyone who disagrees with AGW can be written off as a crank, whose views do not have a scrap of authority.

“This was the danger of always criticising the skeptics for not publishing in the “peer-reviewed literature”. Obviously, they found a solution to that–take over a journal! So what do we do about this? I think we have to stop considering “Climate Research” as a legitimate peer-reviewed journal. Perhaps we should encourage our colleagues in the climate research community to no longer submit to, or cite papers in, this journal. We would also need to consider what we tell or request of our more reasonable colleagues who currently sit on the editorial board…What do others think?”

“I will be emailing the journal to tell them I’m having nothing more to do with it until they rid themselves of this troublesome editor.”“It results from this journal having a number of editors. The responsible one for this is a well-known skeptic in NZ. He has let a few papers through by Michaels and Gray in the past. I’ve had words with Hans von Storch about this, but got nowhere. Another thing to discuss in Nice !”

Global Warming hoax exposed

Falcon:

There has not been a word about it (not surprisingly) in The Hawk Eye, nor in any national media outlet other than Fox News, but the largest hoax in the history of the universe -- the unabashed lie known as anthropogenic global warming -- was incontrovertibly exposed over a week ago with the release to the public of roughly 60MB of Freedom of Information Act request documents and emails from the Climatic Research Unit of the UK's East Anglia University.

These documents provide definitive proof that AGW proponents have been deliberately fabricating and falsifying scientific data, while viciously attacking any who would dare to point out the folly of their ridiculous premise.

In one email it is admitted that

"The fact is that we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can't."

[see
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100017393/climategate-the-final-nail-in-the-coffin-of-anthropogenic-global-warming/
.]

Of course they can't -- they do not live in reality. Their heads are buried in their worthless computer models. The answer, although 93 million miles away, can be plainly seen on any noncloudy day: it is the sun, which is in the midst of perhaps its biggest decline in activity and output since the Maunder Minimum. If the consequences of these pinheads' actions were not so grave this would be laughable.

But the reader does not have to take my word for it; one can view these documents for himself. Steve Milloy's excellent www.Junkscience.com is a worthy starting point.

The world cannot continue to ignore this conclusive proof that AGW is a scam (a bigger scam even than the U.S.'s Social Security Ponzi scheme) -- as it did when Michael Mann's fraudulent "Hockey Stick" graph, hailed as the "smoking gun" of the AGW movement and embraced to this day by the IPCC (which is in fact a POLITICAL, not a SCIENTIFIC, entity), was shown to be a complete fabrication. Despite being revealed as a fraud, Mann, the director of Penn State University's Earth System Science Center, was not summarily dismissed but continues as an AGW enabler.

It remains true, as it always has been, that AGW exists SOLELY in grossly-flawed computer models. Nowhere in nature can it be found, now or ever.

Obama Cabinet = No Experience

Help Wanted, No Private Sector Experience Required

A J.P. Morgan research report examines the prior private sector experience of the cabinet officials since 1900 that one might expect a president to turn to in seeking advice about helping the economy. It includes secretaries of State, Commerce, Treasury, Agriculture, Interior, Labor, Transportation, Energy, and Housing & Urban Development, and excludes Postmaster General, Navy, War, Health, Education & Welfare, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security—432 cabinet members in all.

When one considers that PUBLIC sector employment has ranged since the 1950s at between 15 percent and 19 percent of the population, the makeup of the current cabinet—over 90 percent of its prior experience was in the PUBLIC sector—is remarkable.

Climate-Change Believers Cheat

Hiding evidence of global cooling

Scientific progress depends on accurate and complete data. It also relies on replication. The past couple of days have uncovered some shocking revelations about the baloney practices that pass as sound science about climate change.

It was announced Thursday afternoon that computer hackers had obtained 160 megabytes of e-mails from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in England. Those e-mails involved communication among many scientific researchers and policy advocates with similar ideological positions all across the world. Those purported authorities were brazenly discussing the destruction and hiding of data that did not support global-warming claims.

Falcon:

I wonder how many reporters the AP assigned to investigate Al Gores book and the propaganda movie he made that was forced down the throats of our children in government schools? Their agenda was to warp the minds of young children with lies and false science in order to line their pockets.

Our so called leaders and experts have lied about this global warming and the truth is now being reveled. There has been a world wide effort to falsify science in order to reap billions from misinformed and uneducated people in this world. Of course the left in this country fell for the lies or were part of the scheme to rape our country with this unproven and false science.

Then we have GE and other corporations in on the lie while waiting in the wings to get their hands on our money. Just who in this country can one trust anymore?

Al Gore on Conan Obrien

Falcon,

Former Vice President and Nobel prize winner Al Gore, appeared on the Tonight show with Conan O’Brien on Tuesday, November 17th, to discuss important scientific matters. The host asked the self-appointed climate expert Al Gore, why our country should turn to geothermal princpals to solve our energy needs.

Gore responded, ”People think about geothermal energy -- when they think about it at all -- in terms of the hot water bubbling up in some places, but two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, 'cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees…”

What’s that? Just 6,500 feet below my house the temperature of the earth is in the millions of degrees? Holy Smoke!

That is a lot different than what the Encyclopedia Britanica says. “At earth's core - 4,000 miles deep - temperatures may reach over 9,000 degrees F.”

Obviously, Al Gore was wrong; again.

I find most of what Al Gore says and writes to be pseudo-science gibberish. His publicly expressed opinions would be funny except so many people in this country and around the world, accept his words as expert and factual.

No Insurance? Go To Jail!

"Last Saturday [Nov. 7], at 11 o'clock in the evening, the House of Representatives voted by a five vote margin to have the federal government manage the health care of every American at a cost of $1 trillion dollars over the next ten years. For the first time in American history, if this bill becomes law, the Feds will force you to buy insurance you might not want, or may not need, or cannot afford. If you don't purchase what the government tells you to buy, if you don't do so when they tell you to do it, and if you don't buy just what they say is right for you, the government may fine you, prosecute you, and even put you in jail. Freedom of choice and control over your own body will be lost. The privacy of your communications and medical decision making with your physician will be gone. More of your hard earned dollars will be at the disposal of federal bureaucrats.

It was not supposed to be this way. We elect the government. It works for us. How did it get so removed, so unbridled, so arrogant that it can tell us how to live our personal lives? Evil rarely comes upon us all at once, and liberty is rarely lost in one stroke. It happens gradually, over the years and decades and even centuries. A little stretch here, a cave in there, powers are slowly taken from the states and the people and before you know it, we have one big monster government that recognizes no restraint on its ability to tell us how to live."

Watch Charitable Donations

Falcon,

I recently received a phone call asking for a donation for breast cancer. I asked if they were a marketing company. She said yes. I asked the name of the company, which I didn't write down, but will next time. I asked what percentage of the donation does their marketing firm keep and what percentage does the Cancer Society receive. The lady had to get a supervisor and the supervisor did answer the question and by Federal law they must. She replied that they keep 80% of the donation and 20% goes to the charitable foundation. I asked her if she thought 80% was too much for them to keep and she said No. I told her I thought 80% was extremely high. These companies are profiting on the good people that are making donations to Cancer research, etc., and it's wrong. For every one million dollars that they take in, they keep $800,000. More of these charitable dollars need to go to cancer research and not administration salaries.

I checked on line and found that there are fund raising companies that give 75% - 99% of the donations to the charitable groups. Some use more volunteers to keep cost down. The site I was on recommended that we ask the callers what percentage goes to the charitable foundation. It said 15% in administration cost is acceptable. Some of these professional marketing groups that keep 80% of the donation should be eliminated by the charitable groups. They all sign a contract with the agreements on the percentage of the donation. The Charitable groups should put a restriction on the amount to protect the donors intent. Just thought I would share this information and be aware when they call. These are much needed donations, but just be careful to who you give it to and that it ends up in the right place.

Thank you for this website to share this information.

Greatest Threats

Falcon:

The two greatest threats to our America as we’ve known it are Obama and the Democratic Congress, of course if the people had any representation in Washington at all would be simply amazing.

The congress has sold out the people for every rotten reason one can think of with greed high on the list with the other six deadly sins following a close second.

Congress wouldn’t think of taking Obamacare; so they’ll keep their Cadillac policies while the rest of us die on the vine with Obamacare.

Foolish military gun controls left soldiers defenseless

Time after time, public murder sprees occur in "gun-free zones" - public places where citizens are not legally able to carry guns.

Among President Clinton's first acts upon taking office in 1993 was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases.

Veterans Day/Government Day Off

Falcon

The Hawkeye editorial in Wed. paper was right on about giving all government employees a paid holiday on Veterans Day. Why would we give Federal, State and Local government employees a paid holiday if they are not Veterans? The Veterans should get the day off with pay for their sacrifice, dedication and honor to our Country. To give these employees that have never been in the armed services a free day just because they are government employees is ridiculous and takes away from the Special Day for the Veterans. They earned it, others did not.

I was at lunch today and ran into an old friend who is a Veteran and he was working. Another young couple, both local government employees that have never been in the service, were enjoying the day off. The government can't even get Veterans Day right. It's for Veterans!

22.1% Unemployed

-Falcon:

I heard on the radio the actual number of unemployed in the United States is 22.1% and not 10.2%, which only counts those getting unemployment checks.

The 22.1% is the actual count of all those out of work, looking for work, not looking for work (gave up) and not receiving unemployment checks plus those getting checks.

The government count is only those workers getting unemployment checks, a rather meaningless statistic that makes things look better than they actually are by about 100%.

OBAMACARE ENDORSEMENTS: WHAT THE BRIBE WAS

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on TheHill.com on November 6, 2009

As the suicidal Democratic congressmen proceed to rubber-stamp the Obama healthcare reform despite the drubbing their party took in the '09 elections, the president trotted out the endorsements of the AMA and the AARP to stimulate support. But these -- and the other endorsements -- his package has received are all bought and paid for.

Here are the deals:

* The American Medical Association (AMA) was facing a 21 percent cut in physicians' reimbursements under the current law. Obama promised to kill the cut if they backed his bill. The cuts are the fruit of a law requiring annual 5-6 percent reductions in doctor reimbursements for treating Medicare patients. Bravely, each year Congress has rolled the cuts over, suspending them but not repealing them. So each year, the accumulated cuts threaten doctors. By now, they have risen to 21 percent. With this blackmail leverage, Obama compelled the AMA to support his bill...or else!

* The AARP got a financial windfall in return for its support of the healthcare bill. Over the past decade, the AARP has morphed from an advocacy group to an insurance company (through its subsidiary company). It is one of the main suppliers of Medi-gap insurance, a high-cost, privately purchased coverage that picks up where Medicare leaves off. But President Bush-43 passed the Medicare Advantage program, which offered a subsidized, lower-cost alternative to Medi-gap. Under Medicare Advantage, the elderly get all the extra coverage they need plus coordinated, well-managed care, usually by the same physician. So more than 10 million seniors went with Medicare Advantage, cutting into AARP Medi-gap revenues.

Presto! Obama solved their problem. He eliminates subsidies for Medicare Advantage. The elderly will have to pay more for coverage under Medigap, but the AARP -- which supposedly represents them -- will make more money. (If this galls you, join the American Seniors Association, the alternative group; contact sbarton@americanseniors.org This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .)

* The drug industry backed ObamaCare and, in return, got a 10-year limit of $80 billion on cuts in prescription drug costs. (A drop in the bucket of their almost $3 trillion projected cost over the next decade.) They also got administration assurances that it will continue to bar lower-cost Canadian drugs from coming into the U.S. All it had to do was put its formidable advertising budget at the disposal of the administration.

* Insurance companies got access to 40 million potential new customers. But when the Senate Finance Committee lowered the fine that would be imposed on those who don't buy insurance from $3,500 to $1,500, the insurance companies jumped ship and now oppose the bill, albeit for the worst of motives.

The only industry that refused to knuckle under was the medical device makers. They stood for principle and wouldn't go along with Obama's blackmail. So the Senate Finance Committee retaliated by imposing a tax on medical devices such as automated wheelchairs, pacemakers, arterial stents, prosthetic limbs, artificial knees and hips and other necessary accoutrements of healthcare.

So these endorsements are not freely given, but bought and paid for by an administration that is intent on passing its program at any cost.

Economic Myths

History shows government meddling worsens economy

Steve H. Hanke is a Professor of Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C., and writes frequently for Globe Asia and Forbes magazine. Professor Hanke starts off his "Hu versus Sarkozy" article (Globe Asia, November 2009) with a warning. There is no more reliable rule than the 95 percent rule: 95 percent of what you read about economics and finance is either wrong or irrelevant. The article contrasts the Chinese versus the French responses to the financial crisis but the major focus is on economic myths.

Hanke says that the most repeated statement about the cause of the U.S. Great Depression is that it was caused by the October 1929 stock market crash. How could that be? By April 1930, the stock market had recovered to its pre-crash level. What is not taught in history books is the Great Depression was caused by a massive government failure. The most important part of that failure were the actions by the Federal Reserve Bank that led to the contraction of the money supply by 25 percent. Then, the name of saving jobs, Congress enacted the Smoot-Hawley Act in June 1930, which increased U.S. tariffs by more than 50 percent. Other nations retaliated and world trade collapsed. U.S. unemployment rose from 8 percent in 1930 to 25 percent in 1933. In 1932, the Herbert Hoover administration and a Democratic Congress imposed the largest tax increase in U.S. history, raising the top tax rate on income from 25 percent to 63 percent. The Roosevelt administration followed these destructive policies with New Deal legislation that massively regulated the economy and extended the Great Depression to after World War II.

Have today's politicians and their economic advisers learned anything from yesteryear's policy that turned what would have been a short, sharp downturn in the economy into a 16-year affair? The answer is very little. Professor Hanke argues that the chief enabler of both the Great Depression and our latest economic downturn is the Federal Reserve Bank, who sees itself as America's systemic risk regulator. This is the world upside down, Hanke explains: The Federal Reserve is the systemic risk.

How about a bit of history? Between 1787 and 1930, our nation has seen both mild and severe economic downturns, sometimes called Panics, that have ranged from one to seven years. During that interval, there was no thought that Congress or the president should intervene in the economy to enact stimulus packages, jobs programs or massive corporate handouts. Probably, the reason that no one thought to do so was that there was no constitutional authority to do so. It took the Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt administrations to massively and unconstitutionally intervene in the economy and, with the help of a frightened, derelict U.S. Supreme Court, turn what might have been a two- or three-year sharp downturn into our longest depression.

Professor Hanke says that the lesson to be drawn from business cycle history is that, if left to run their natural course, severe downturns are followed by rapid snapbacks. The 1921 recession is a good example where wholesale prices, industrial production and manufacturing employment fell by 30 percent or more and reached their low in mid-1921. There was little government intervention, at least by today's standards, and the economy recovered naturally; and by early 1922, it had fully recovered and the nation was off to the Roaring Twenties.

The bottom line is that the idea that government bureaucrats have enough knowledge to manage an economy well is the height of conceit -- what Nobel Laureate Friedrich Hayek called the "fatal conceit."

State Employees

Falcon:

I doubt that state employees would give anything back since they’ve been cuddled and pampered by the legislature since day one.

Their unions have hoodwinked the state legislature into believing their something other than they are which is a drain on the working population of Iowa. Why and the hell should state employees earn in excess of 45% more than the private sector when performing the same job functions.

Who are they that they can’t pay some of their insurance just like the private sector? These people are raping the people of Iowa that work hard for their money and there’s no reason they can’t pay the average monthly bill that the private sector pays which is probably over $100 per month.

These city, county and state unions are breaking the backs of the private sector that has been forced to bend over backwards in order to pamper these derelict public servants, what a joke. I say lets fire them all and start over without this union strangulation of the private sector.

The state always says their employees earn more than the private sector because of their education. Well, I’ve worked for PhD’s that didn’t have enough brains to get out of the rain; so I don’t buy the state explanation of why they earn excessive salaries. I also wonder how many degreed personnel the state has on the payroll for jobs that don’t require a degree. The state has made so many blunders in the past several years it’s hard to believe their personnel have even obtained a high school degree. Just look how the Burlington management fowls up time after time and no one is ever held accountable. That’s similar to how the state operates; so these public servants need to realize they work for the citizens and their salaries and benefits should be in line with the people they work for and not based on their questionable educations.

The state needs to start cutting wages back in line with what the private sector earns and institute monthly payment plans for their health insurance and other benefits for which they currently pay nothing.

No more “Privileged Class.”

Charge for state employee health insurance

Last week, the possibility of renegotiating the current state employee pay contract was discussed by Governor Culver. However, neither the Governor nor the employee unions have stated they intend to reopen the current contract, an action which should happen without delay.

The opportunity for more budget savings is within the State Employee Collective Bargaining Agreement. While I have already suggested the Governor implement a state employee pay reduction, the issue of health insurance for state employees should also be addressed.

Right now, all state employees with a single coverage health insurance plan, and many state employees with family coverage pay no premium. This is an interesting contrast with Iowans employed in the private sector. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, single Iowans in private sector establishments contribute an average total of $756 toward their health insurance premiums annually and Iowans with family coverage contribute an annual average of $2,524.

Our state employees receive a tremendous benefit, which is a huge cost to Iowa taxpayers. Currently, state employee health insurance premiums cost taxpayers over $300 million each year.

The state-run hawk-i program, which is designed to provide health insurance coverage for lower-income Iowa children, requires families to pay a monthly premium based upon their income. Some lower-income Iowa families pay as much as $40 a month for hawk-i coverage for their children.

There is something wrong with the system when families on the hawk-i program are paying more for their children's health insurance premium than our well-compensated state employees are paying for their own.

Governor Culver and the unions should renegotiate health insurance benefits for state employees. I propose state employees chip in a share of the cost of their health insurance. If 50,000 current state employees were to pay $40 a month for their health insurance premium, this would result in an immediate budget savings of $24 million.

A savings of $24 million would go a long way in preventing the potential layoffs in the Department of Corrections. Given the choice to pay $40 a month for health insurance or head to the unemployment line, I'm certain many workers would choose to pay this small part of their health insurance premium.

Asking state employees to fund a portion of their health insurance premium seems only fair when lower-income Iowans are paying up to $40 a month for hawk-i, just to have their children covered. While many Iowans are out of work, struggling to put food on the table, and paying for their health insurance, it is a small thing to ask of our state employees to pay a portion of their own health insurance premium.

It is time our state government begins to operate more effectively and efficiently. The way out of the budget crisis is to change the way the state is run, not use scare tactics and send more Iowans to the unemployment line.

Governor Culver, while you are meeting with the unions, please keep these two things in mind: It is time to align state worker pay with private sector pay, and it is time to ask state employees to pay a portion of their health insurance premium. Iowa taxpayers expect better from their government.

Heland's Rude Remarks

Falcon

I listened to the recording of Jeff Heland's very rude remarks. This is an example of the real Heland. Heland was questioning Fred on KCPS and remarking about former President George Bush. The caller simply asked Heland, what have YOU done to help lower property taxes? Heland, honestly said that he has done NOTHING, to lower property taxes. This is true, because Heland loves to raise taxes. He sure did it this year again. Heland then told the caller that the caller would be the first to tell the community that Heland was a tax lover and that the caller was a hate mongrel. Heland was obviously irritated by the callers truthful question. He went to name calling, that Heland himself has often said he doesn't do. Unbelievable that Heland gets elected. He may not next time. Is there anyone in this community that believes they are as smart and right all of the time, as this Heland guy. He puts his foot in his mouth, walks right into the punch and then blames others. He has been in public office too long and that is his problem.

After the vote last week the AMA is totally bent out of shape because their millions of dollars in payoff money failed to pass; so now it’s back to the drawing board for them. Their money was to pay doctors off for what they would loose with government insurance and you can bet you bottom dollar the taxpayer would never have been told of this.

I would also venture to say the insurance companies have also made behind the door deals with the Obama administration in order to keep their coffers full after government run health insurance starts.

It’s business as usual and the special interest will reap the benefits; so Obama can pass his health care plans that will ruin the future of our grandchildren and beyond.

History of Red Ribbon Week

About the Event
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. Although the start end dates can vary slightly depending on the organization and source, Red Ribbon Week generally takes place the last full week in October, with the weekends before and following the last full week included as appropriate celebration dates. This year Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated locally October 23-31, 2009 .

Red Ribbon Week serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of drug free America.

And, perhaps more importantly, Red Ribbon Week commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffikers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children safe.

The Story Behind the Symbol
Enrique "Kiki" Camarena grew up in a dirt-floored house with hopes and dreams of making a difference.

Camarena worked his way through college, served in the Marines and became a police officer. When he decided to join the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, his mother tried to talk him out it. "I can't not do this," he told her. "I'm only one person, but I want to make a difference."

The DEA sent Camarena to work undercover in Mexico investigating a major drug cartel believed to include officers in the Mexican army, police and government. On Feb. 7, 1985, the 37-year-old Camarena left his office to meet his wife for lunch. Five men appeared at the agent's side and shoved him in a car. One month later, Camarena's body was found in a shallow grave. He had been tortured to death.

Within weeks of his death in March of 1985, Camarena's Congressman, Duncan Hunter, and high school friend Henry Lozano, launched Camarena Clubs in Imperial Valley, California, Camarena's home. Hundreds of club members pledged to lead drug-free lives to honor the sacrifices made by Camarena and others on behalf of all Americans. 2 These coalitions began to wear red badges of satin, red ribbons, as a symbol Camarena's memory. The Red Ribbon Week campaign emerged from the efforts of these clubs and coalitions.

Today, Red Ribbon Week is nationally recognized and celebrated, helping to preserve Special Agent Camarena's memory and further the cause for which he gave his life. The Red Ribbon Campaign also became a symbol of support for the DEA's efforts to reduce demand for drugs through prevention and education programs. By wearing a red ribbon during the last week in October, Americans demonstrate their ardent opposition to drugs. They pay homage not only to Special Agent Camarena, but to all men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in support of our nation's struggle against drug trafficking and abuse.

DOJ Forces Partisanship In N.C. Town

The Justice Department has overruled a North Carolina city’s law to hold nonpartisan local elections claiming that black voters are denied equal rights without the Democratic Party even though many of the state’s municipalities have successfully implemented the system for years.

Citizens in Kinston, where two-thirds of the population and the majority of registered voters are black, overwhelmingly passed a measure last year to eliminate the party affiliation of candidates for mayor and city council as have most local governments throughout North Carolina.

7 Months of Stimulus - 49 of 50 States Have Lost Jobs

America Now Over 6 Million Jobs Shy of Obama's Projections

The table below compares the White House's February 2009 projection of the number of jobs that would be created by the 2009 stimulus law (through the end of 2010) with the actual change in state payroll employment through September 2009 (the latest figures available). According to the data, 49 States and the District of Columbia have lost jobs since stimulus was enacted. Only North Dakota has seen net job creation following the February 2009 stimulus. While President Obama claimed the result of his stimulus bill would be the creation of 3.5 million jobs, the Nation has already lost a total of 2.7 million – a difference of 6.2 million jobs. To see how stimulus has failed your state, see the table below.

Government Pay Raises

Falcon,

There has been news articles about pay scales decreasing or freezing across the Country and the State of Iowa over the last 2 years. The City Council of Burlington just last year voted unanimously to a 5 year contract with pay raises and free health insurance every year. I believe it was 3-5 % pay increases each year. This was irresponsibly for our council to do this, when so many of their citizens are facing layoffs and furloughs. They just don't get it. They let our infrastructure deteriorate (Cascade Bridge) because the City can't afford to keep it up, but they have money for pay raises every year. Not one council member stood up and voted against those pay raises. They should have! And now they ask for our vote. Same thing at the County level.

Hawk Eye

Falcon,

The Hawk Eye is a non-functioning paper in that it fails at all investigating reporting, censors the news to party lines, and fails to print about the favoritism, corruption and selective use of laws by the Burlington police department.

Basically the Hawk Eye is just an outlet for the Obama type of left wing propaganda promoting the socialist way of life that will eventually lead to the destruction of our already weakened constitution and the corruption of our elected officials.

The Hawk Eye is a socialist as is Anita Dunn the White House Communication Director, who admires Chairman Mao despite his killing of 34 million of his countrymen and puts him second only to Stalin and about 13 million more deaths than Hitler. Should our president be hanging out with people that despise our way of life and are outright socialist in their thinking? Are these the types of people we want advising the president of our country?

At least Fox is telling it like it is while the rest of the networks crawl beneath the closest rock rather than tell the truth about the Obama administration and for this the White House has declared war against the Fox network. This is a sure sign the White House is paranoid about its policies and socialist agenda being broadcast to the American people as Anita Dunn and others try to deflect the truth by attacking Fox. Obama is emulating Richard Nixon the last president who tried to attack the press for printing the truth about his administration wrong doings and we all know what happened to Nixon.

Obama plans on selling out our way of life when he goes to Copenhagen in December where he will vote “yea” for selling out our government to foreign interests and third world idiots under the banner of the global warming myth.

I wonder how much wages have tumbled down at the court house and city hall. Our governor made a token announcement awhile back about the state cutbacks.

He needs to start cutting at the cost of overhead. The state has done little to reduce spending and basically nothing to curb overpay and benefits that far exceed the private sector employee compensation.

County Massage

Falcon

I read in The Hawkeye about the County employees receiving massages. I listened to the debate on local KCPS 1150 AM

A couple of comments and questions: Personally, I don't really care if the employees receive a massage on their break and they pay for it. At least they are not going downtown and eating donuts. So it may be healthier. If some of them went on a diet, they would have less back problems. That is a medical fact.

Questions: Are they taking extra break time? How do they schedule 10-15 employees at 15 minute sessions which would take a few hours and they all get their required break? What if 30 people sign up? Did they give all massage businesses a chance for this business? The Hawkeye sure didn't ask many questions.

Jeff Heland was on KCPS defending the action inside the courthouse. Heland said that this goes on in the private sector and the public employee should be treated the same as the private employee. I would agree with that statement and that is a fair statement. Now, can we expect Mr. Heland to lead the way and fight to have the County employees pay for a portion of the monthly health insurance premium as everybody does in the private sector or will he continue to just raise our taxes and have us pay for it? Last time reported in the Hawkeye, the County employee's monthly family health insurance including a contribution to their YMCA or other health fitness center was $1200.00 per month and it was all FREE. Not the same in the private sector and Heland knows it, but will never do anything because he is cashing in on the same program and does not have the character or guts to stand up to the employees. We are not his priority. The Hawkeye editor is asleep or afraid to tackle this issue, for some reason. They claim to be the watch dog, but they have not been since Jim Quirk left the Hawkeye and Delaney came to town. That's disappointing and unfair to our citizens because they are not doing their job. They are too busy pushing their pet projects like dumping more money in the Depot. And they wonder why their subscriptions are headed downward and citizens have lost confidence in their local paper.

The Economist

Falcon,

Many working-class men have lost their jobs. Those who are still employed have seen their wages stagnate and their pensions shrivel in the stockmarket crash. Their health insurance is insecure, but they don’t trust Congress not to make it worse.

Meanwhile, they can see that one group of Americans has been practically unaffected by the recession: government employees. Their hours have not been cut, their benefits are gold-plated and they are almost impossible to sack. In good times, few Americans notice these things, but in bad times, the disparity grates. Cops and firefighters can retire in their 40s and draw defined-benefit pensions for life. With overtime, one tenth of the police in Massachusetts made more than the governor’s annual salary in 2006, according to the Boston Globe. Including benefits, the average employee of New York City makes more than $100,000, according to Forbes, while some Californian prison guards “sock away $300,000 a year”.

And what do taxpayers get for their generosity? The bad bargains get all the publicity. Union contracts force the postal service to pay thousands of unneeded workers to do nothing. In New York, public-school teachers who can’t be trusted to teach but can’t be sacked either are paid to sit and do crosswords.

Pay increase for government employees

Falcon:

Just got this from a democrat friend of mine!!

Pay increase for government employees.....

Dear Senator Nelson,

Expect a significant backlash from this and many other subjects in the next election. The sleeping giant has been awakened in not only seniors but what you will find is the new majority.

Please read:

Obama recently approved a 2% salary increase for all federal employees effective January 1, 2010. Members of the executive, legislative and judicial branch are due for an automatic pay increase in January as well. All this on the backs of seniors who will not receive any COLA (cost of living adjustment) increases in their Social Security payments in 2010, and maybe for several years.

For the first time in history, Congress did not allow an increase in the social security COLA, because of a nearly zero rate of inflation this year. The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, moreover, predicts there may not be any COLA for the next three years. However, the per person monthly Medicare insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2010 and then to $120.20 for the year 2011.

Send this to all seniors that you know. Remind them to not vote for any incumbents.

Nancy Pelosi un-American

Falcon:

That Nancy Pelosi is one of the most despicable persons I know of in Washington. That woman has already sold her soul to the baby killing crowd and now she’s pedaling hate crime bills on the back of a bill written to aid our troops in harms way. That bill Pelosi tacked on would never have passed an honest house vote if it went before the house on it’s own but don’t forget we’re talking about democrats especially Pelosi who knows no bounds when it comes to hate, deceit, dishonesty and disrespect for the office of Speaker of the House.

Pelosi is a sneaky liar that has a vendetta against honest hard working Americans that marry and have families while she supports every odd ball misfit walking the face of the earth, mostly in San Francisco the cesspool of American humanity.

Pelosi sees nothing wrong with two male queens walking down the street naked kissing and hugging in public. To her that’s as normal as apple pie and she wants it spread to all corners of America regardless of what the majority of Americans believe. To Pelosi the cesspool on the bay is the way America should be and she’ll lie and cheat each and every oddball bill into law in order to protect the lower forms of life associated with San Francisco.

The State of California has been totally ruined by people that think like her but alas California is responsible for her rise into Washington and the ruination of the rest of the country. Why in the world would the good people of California cast this malarkey upon the rest of the country?

With Washington full of losers like Pelosi and her followers the honest American doesn’t have a chance. She exhibits the real faults of our government otherwise she wouldn’t be speaker of the house a position she doesn’t deserve.

So the next time you hear or see Pelosi I hope you remember all the things she stands for that are un-American and against the morals of honest hard working Americans.

ACORN Gets $ 1 Million Homeland Security Grant

Weeks after federal lawmakers cut the public funding of a fraud-infested community group famous for advising prostitutes and pimps on how to skirt housing and tax laws, it received nearly $1 million in Homeland Security funds intended for fire departments.

The unbelievable infusion of tax dollars into the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) was revealed this week by a Washington D.C. newspaper that reports the money was allocated just three weeks after the House and Senate voted to cut the group’s funding amid a series of corruption scandals.

It’s funny we know all about Michelle Obama’s heritage: NYT: First lady’s slave roots revealed - The New York Times- msnbc.com but cannot prove Obama himself was born in the United States.

If he was actually born in 1960 in Hawaii he is a natural born citizen but if he was born prior to August 29, 1959 Mr. Obama is not a citizens of the United States.

By the way many Hawaiian people still consider their islands a country and claim the US just took their country and made it a state through fraud.

The answer to the Obama question has proven very elusive since the press has no gumption to find out and could care less because their owned by Obama and his agenda, which they hope will lead them to riches from the enslavement of the population as it slides into socialism under the Obama plan.

Obama a World of Trouble

Falcon:

In 1996 Obama would tell Chicagoans, “We have a stake in one another, and that what binds us together is greater than what drives us apart, and that if enough people believe in the truth of that proposition and act on it, then we might not solve every problem, but we can get something meaningful done.”

This story presents Obama as a uniter who eschews the cheap shots and cynicism of the political world-precisely the image Obama later offered voters in 2008. And the story, like Obama’s marketing image of that campaign, is a sham. Obama won the 1996 election months before a single vote was cast. He had all of his opponents thrown off the ballot for their petition signatures. He won unopposed. It was perfectly legal through certainly not the act of the political reformer Obama has since pretended to be.

This foundation lie perhaps makes less surprising Obama’s many subsequent empty campaign promises-ad most importantly, the empty promise that he was someone completely different. Obama is not, nor was he ever, the conciliatory, post-partisan figure he played on television during the presidential campaign.

The real Obama has proven to be a knee-jerk partisan, eager to exploit an economic crisis in order to advance a far-left, big-government agenda. He wants the opposition to “get out of the way.” The real man has not brought Americans together as he promised but has rather polarized the country more than ever. The real Barack Obama goes out of his way to make an example of his critics in public office. He even stoops to condescension and demonization against ordinary Americans who object to his proposals.

Obama had duped so many Americans with his smooth (teleprompter) produced speeches that he got himself elected president on the equivalent of a flim flam man agenda. How could so many Americans be fooled into voting for this sham of a man? A man that has lied about so many of his promises it’s enough to make one throw-up just thinking about it—for example, that he would not raise taxes on five-figure earners; that Americans could keep the health care they have under his grand plan; that science would no longer be subordinate to ideology in decision-making.

Since that time, the president has raised taxes on smokers of all incomes, putting the lie to his unequivocal promise: “I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not you capital gains taxes, not any of you taxes.” His climate change bill, still making its way through Congress, would lay another tax on every American who uses electricity.

Obama is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and don’t ever think he isn’t. Just look at all the tax dodgers and liars he associated with prior to the election and has now infiltrated the White House and government with. We are all in a world of trouble with this president and it’s our own fault.

General Electric

Falcon,

No company spends as much on lobbying the federal government as does General Electric.

From 1998 through the middle of 2009, GE had spent $183,895,000 on lobbying-more than any other company.

If you study public comments, the lobbying disclosure forms and some internal communications, it becomes clear: GE is lobbying for bigger government that drives business and tax dollars their way.

And for the Obama White House, the company has already proven to be quite a helpful partner.

GE wants to charge you for giving off carbon dioxide. GE wants you to pay them for the CO2 emissions resulting from the electricity you use, the gasoline you burn, the heat and air conditioning you use and the fuel that went into making and shipping the goods you buy.

How could they do this?
Government, of course.

Sure enough, GE’s lobbying disclosure forms show the company lobbied on approximately a dozen bills to restrict greenhouse gas emissions. GE is the leading member of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, a lobbying group that pushes for cap-and-trade scheme such as that found in the Waxman-Markey, under which certain business would need to spend a greenhouse credit in order to engage in activity that emits greenhouse gases.

GE profits in many ways from climate-change legislation-and nearly every penny of those profits comes out of the pockets of regular consumers and taxpayers.

GE CEO Jeffery Immelt, far-left-wing host Keith Olberman of GE-owned MSNBC has been in the tank for President Obama and the rest of the liberals in Washington from day one.

Anyone who buys GE products is supporting the left wing radicals who in turn are ruining our country by supporting climate control for the purpose of lining their pockets.

Obama tapped GE CEO Jeff Immlet to sit on his Economic Recovery Advisory Board.

Business Week reported in July that “White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee…talks to GE’s Immelt every week on issues such a as infrastructure and making the stimulus more effective.”

In May, Obama hired Ignacia Moreno as assistant attorney general for the environment. Moreno’s former job was as environmental counsel for GE.

The White House ties to GE make this company a threat to our way of life and Americans should stop buying GE products to rein in this threat. Obama pays back GE for their money by proposing policies that correspond to GE business initiatives, which are in the financial and environmental arenas.

Remember, when you purchase a product from GE or finance through GE you are supporting the destruction of our way of life as we know it.

By watching MSNBC you are supporting the left wing radical side of society who want nothing more than big government and a socialist America. Is this what you want?

Obama Jobs Gap Grows Again

Another 263,000 jobs lost under the Obama administration.

Another month, another 263,000 jobs lost under the Obama administration. According to Bureau of Labor and Statistics data released this morning, the United States economy has lost 3.6 million net jobs since President Barack Obama was sworn into office and the unemployment rate has risen from 7.6 % to 9.8%. It was not supposed to be this way. The experts in the Obama administration promised the American people that the President’s $787 billion stimulus package would create 4 million jobs by the end of 2010. According to the Obama administration’s expert plan, the stimulus was supposed to create or save enough jobs that the unemployment rate would only be 7.8% by this time. Instead unemployment rose last month and is now at a 26-year record high of 9.8%.

When the Obama administration first unveiled their stimulus plan in November they claimed it would create 2.5 million jobs by the end of 2010. At the time BLS reported that U.S. economy employed about 136.1 million jobs. But by January that number fell to 134.6 million jobs. Not so coincidentally, the Obama administration upped the job-creating magic of the stimulus to 4 million jobs by the end of 2010. Putting these numbers together, we can create an objective standard to judge both the President and his stimulus by: 136.1 million plus 2.5 million equals 138.6 million; and 134.6 million plus 4 million equals 138.6 million. So the objective, Obama administration created, BLS data verifiable, jobs accountability number is 138.6 million. Today’s BLS report shows that President Obama is 7.6 million jobs short of his promise to the American people.

To close the Obama Jobs Gap, the U.S. economy would have to go through the greatest 16-month average increase in employment in modern American history. During the peak of the Reagan boom in December of 1984, the U.S. economy added 373,000 jobs a month. Obama would need to create 477,000 jobs a month. That is not going to happen.

So what went wrong? Simply put, Obama’s experts relied on some fundamentally unsound assumptions and now our nation is paying the price in lost jobs and record deficits. Harvard economics professor Robert Barro and his student Charles Redlick released some preliminary conclusions of a study, yesterday, showing that the theoretical foundation of President Obama’s stimulus, the belief that government spending creates a “multiplier effect” that expands the gross domestic product by more than the government spending itself, is not supported by existing empirical evidence.

The Federal government can stimulate the economy in the short term, not by shuffling demand across the economy through wasteful deficit spending, but by improving incentives and the general economic environment. Individuals and businesses across the nation already see tremendous opportunities for starting new businesses, for investment, for hiring new workers, for expanding into new markets. However many are holding back due to existing excessive tax and regulatory burdens. Instead of making this situation better, the Obama administration and Congress seem intent on making it worse by enacting new taxes and regulations on energy and passing health care legislation that will tax businesses for creating jobs and encourage lower wages. It is exceedingly clear that President Obama is going to fall short of his jobs promise, the only question now is how large the Obama Jobs Gap will be.

Wages

Falcon:

No matter what the private sector experiences you can be sure that local government employees will get their yearly raises and bonuses as usual despite the hardship of increased taxes on the private sector to fund it.

Wages and bonus money for government employees is based on nothing more than longevity with no emphasis on performance or accountability. We have a system whereby a person starts working with local government and does nothing but show up for 30 years who will have his or her wages far outpace a private sector employee, who not only must show up but must also perform in order to get pay raises and must also pay a large portion of their benefit premiums while government employees don’t.

Private Employee is right in that public servants will always get their raises regardless of the economy or tax hardship placed on those in the private sector. Basically government employees are very much wards of the state because they have employment where no accountability or performance is required for the wages and benefits they receive.

We need government wages and benefits tied to the private sector and the economy rather than longevity and the good ole boy system. This is how Burlington and Des Moines County wages are now determined and it’s time for change and a rollback of wages and benefits. The supervisors should have their pay and benefits based on part time employment and not full time employment, where’s the accountability? Des Moines County voters are stupid to let them get away with stealing all this taxpayer money for their part time jobs, where else in this county do you get full wages and benefits for part time work?

Des Moines County residents are basically retarded when it comes to knowing and voting for good government. Our one party system of government has proven itself inept and totally irresponsible.

Dresser Rand Update

Falcon

Yes, Dresser Rand did have layoffs. GE has had layoffs and furloughs. I don't think it is anything any different from many other local businesses that have seen layoffs because of the slow economy. I sure hope everybody does get called back. It is tough for business right now. Slow sales, slow manufacturing, growing taxes and expenses is not a recipe for business growth. A group of six of us were recently out. 4 had seen layoffs, furloughs or wage freezes. Two (local government employees) received nice pay increases.

Health-Care Companies

Falcon:

All your viewers should read the following paragraph because it tells two real stories, one about health-care and the other about why our elected officials in Washington do not represent us:

With median annual compensation of more than $12.4 million, C.E.O.’s at the big health-care companies make two-thirds more than their counterparts in finance and are the highest paid of any industry. The health-care industry’s total annual profit has grown to an estimated $200 billion, and it doled out nearly $170 million in campaign contributions in 2007 and 2008. It now spends more than any other industry lobbying the federal government—$3.5 billion over the past decade and a record $263 million in the first six months of this year. That’s six lobbyists and nearly half a million dollars for each member of Congress.

The last sentence tells it like it is and this is only one industry out of hundreds that corrupt our elected representation in Washington and along with the states.

Until the money stops flowing we’ll have no representation in Washington and we haven’t for years. All that money would corrupt anyone including the president because he’s met with the insurance and healthcare industries more than once at the White House.

We need healthcare regulation and tort control another sore spot with Obama because he’s already attached to the trial lawyers who depend on malpractice suits to earn their millionaire livings.

I wonder how much our health care has increased to cover all the money these entities spend buying off our elected officials in Washington.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop the flow of money to scumbag politicians, please speak up?

Catholic Church Funding of ACORN

Obama has strong ties to ACORN, they were originally established through the U.S. Catholic Church, which has also funded ACORN and similar organizations to the tune of millions of dollars. This is another taboo topic for most of the media. Even conservative news organizations are afraid of raising the issue, apparently fearing being tagged with the "anti-Catholic" label.

Barack Obama's friendly meeting with the Pope made it clear that the President's Catholic connection goes back to his days as a community organizer and that Obama's associates understand and appreciate this fact.

Why everyone says no to Obama

Everybody is saying no to the American president these days. And it's not just that they're saying no, it's also the way they're saying no.

The Saudis twice said no to his request for normalization gestures towards Israel (at Barack Obama's meeting with King Abdullah in Saudi Arabia, and in Washington at meetings with Hillary Clinton). Who says no to the American president twice? What must they think of Obama in the desert kingdom?

The North Koreans said no to repeated attempts at talks, by test-launching long-range missiles in April; Russia and China keep on saying no to tougher sanctions on Iran; the Iranians keep saying no to offers of talks by saying they're willing to talk about everything except a halt to uranium enrichment; Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is saying no by refusing to meet with Binyamin Netanyahu until Israel freezes all settlement construction; the Israelis said no by refusing to agree to a settlement freeze, or even a settlement moratorium until and unless the Arabs ante up their normalization gestures.

Earth Cools as Sun Cools

The average person may not associate coolness with the sun.

The sun releases energy through deep nuclear fusion reactions in its core and has surface temperatures as hot as 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, according to NASA's Web site.

Not cool at all.

But the sun's recent activity, or lack thereof, may be linked to the pleasant summer temperatures the midwest has enjoyed this year, said Charlie Perry, a research hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Lawrence.

The sun is at a low point of a deep solar minimum in which there are few to no sunspots on its surface.

New Virus threatens online banking

Cyber criminals have created a highly sophisticated Trojan virus that steals online banking log-in details from infected computers.

The Clampi virus, which is spreading rapidly across hundreds of thousands of computers in Britain and the United States, infects computers when users visit websites that host a malicious code.

Once on the computer, the virus sits unnoticed until the user logs on to bank, credit card or other financial websites. It then captures log-in and password information and sends it to a server run by the attackers. They can then tell the compromised computer to send money to accounts that they control, or they can buy goods with the stolen credit card details.

'Big Brother' phone coming soon

‘Social’ phones to reveal all about your caller

Forget caller ID. A coming wave of “social” mobile phones is likely to tell you everything you ever wanted to know and more about the person calling you.

When the phone rings, a user can see a video recorded by the caller as a “status update” that shows their mood and where they are.

The screen can also feature their latest Twitter messages, their name and title from the Linkedin professional network, recent photos posted to the Flickr photo service and a map of their location.
